Useful Info

Due to the continued success of Pig ‘n’ Porter Tag Rugby Fest, the qualifying rounds will once again be held in two venues – Old Crescent RFC and Crescent College Comprehensive. The knockout rounds and finals for all grades will be held in Old Crescent RFC.

Old Crescent RFC

Old Crescent RFC has hosted the Pig ‘N’ Porter since its inception in 2001 and is also host to the ITRA Summer Tag League on Thurday and Friday nights. 35 teams will play their group games on 7 pitches here before being joined by the qualifiers from Crescent Comp for the knock-out stages and finals.

Bar, food, shower and toilet facilities will be provided as we aim to make your day as enjoyable as possible. Bouncy castles and various other forms of entertainment will be on hand to keep the kiddies entertained.

Crescent College Comprehensive

Crescent College is only a hoof of a rugby ball away from Old Crescent RFC so don’t think for a second that playing here means you’ll miss any of the craic! We will provide the same standard of entertainment for the kids here as in Old Crescent. BBQ, food and soft drinks will also be available throughout the day. Toilet and shower facilities are also provided.

Teams that are playing their group games in Crescent College will be informed beforehand so on the day of the Pig ‘n’ Porter, all players in teams selected to play here must go directly to Crescent College to register. Teams that are playing in Crescent College should not come to Old Crescent RFC to register.

Once the group stages have been completed here, all players and patrons will have free entry to Old Crescent RFC for the latter stages of the Pig ‘n’ Porter tag competitions as well as the night’s festivities.

Parking

Free parking will be provided in both venues although the Crescent College car park will close at 6pm. No cars will be allowed to park overnight in Crescent College but you can park in Old Crescent RFC once you’re finished at Crescent College. Overnight parking with security will be provided at Old Crescent. To avoid over conjestion, we would advise players to car-pool!

Drink, Food & Entertainment

Full bar facilities will be provided at Old Crescent although no alcohol will be sold before 2pm. We would like to think that both players and patrons will be able to survive without a drink until then.

Due to health and safety issues no glass is permitted in the car parks, on the playing pitches or any other area of the venues. For this reason only drinks bought on the premises can be consumed on the premises.

Toilets

Extra toilet facilities will be provided on-site by Atlantic Luxury Restrooms. These luxurious mobile self sanitising units are designed to the highest of specifications where attention has been given to every detail. The interior includes down lighters to supply a subtle lighting effect, piped music creating an ambience, carpets, scent dispensers, wooden trim, warm water and hand creams thus giving the appearance of a luxurious facility aimed at ensuring user comfort.
